Community drop in sessions
Community first for Amphora Energy’s proposed Mount Remarkable Energy Hub
Engaging with the community isn’t just a checkbox — it is the foundation of how we build a Project.
Over 14th and 15th April, our team held four community engagement sessions to seek feedback on the proposed 500 MW / 1000 MWh Mount Remarkable Energy Hub.
We were incredibly encouraged by the turnout and the calibre of the conversations. To everyone who took the time to drop in, share your thoughts, and ask the tough questions: thank you.
It was a valuable opportunity for our team — Guy Outen (Chair), Brendan Warn (CEO), Bill Mundy (Community & Stakeholder Manager), Niketan Tyagi (Development Director), and Malcolm Ballinger (Technical Director) — to speak directly with residents and local stakeholders.
Meaningful projects require transparency, and we appreciated the chance to dive deep into the topics that matter most to the local community, including:
Safety and Environment: Detailed discussions on fire risk management and noise mitigation.
Local Impact: Conversations regarding visual integration and the potential for local community jobs.
Project Scope: We heard the concerns regarding wind turbines and were able to clarify that our focus remains strictly on the Energy Hub infrastructure.
A huge thank you to our hosts who made these sessions possible: Geoff Hitch, Captain of the Wilmington CFS for our Wilmington sessions, and Leonie Paul and the Melrose Institute for our Melrose sessions.
We also appreciated a drop-in visit from Tom Venning MP, Federal Member for Grey, to discuss the project’s role in the region's future.
We’re heading home with plenty of valuable feedback to integrate as we move forward.
